11th Avenue North Exit Ramp Closure, in Birmingham
Central Business District Project – Phase III
BIRMINGHAM– Weather permitting Wednesday, August 16th the 11th Avenue North Exit Ramp from I-59/20 Southbound will close permanently as The Alabama Department of Transportation continues its work to improve the I-59/20 and I-65 Interchange (Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project).
Traffic will be directed to continue to the Carraway Blvd. exit to 6th Avenue North.
Also in conjunction with this closure, 25th Street North between 11th Avenue North and Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. North will also close permanently.
Message boards and all necessary traffic controls will be in place.
This work is a part of Phase III of the I-59/20 Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
