12th Ave. North Bridge Replacement Project Continues, in Birmingham
JEFFERSON COUNTY –. Weather permitting, the construction project to replace the 12th Avenue North Bridge that spans over I-59/20 just north of downtown Birmingham will continue as follows:
The contractor for the above project is planning on implementing interstate single lane closures January 4 during the day on the I-59/20 Northbound (EB) roadway to remove bridge formwork from the interstate median. This closure will be between the US 31/ HWY 280 Expressway Exit (126A) and the 31st Street North Bridge. Please see the below for time and location.
- Wednesday, January 4 at 9 a.m., the I-59 Northbound INSIDElane near MP 126.5 will be closed until approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 4.
State troopers will be on site to assist with blue lighting for the lane closures.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
