I-59/20 SB Entrance Ramp from 31st Street North Closure, in Birmingham
Central Business District Project – Phase III
BIRMINGHAM– Weather permitting Monday at 12 a.m., November 27th the I-59/20 Southbound entrance Ramp from 31st Street North will close as The Alabama Department of Transportation continues its work to improve the I-59/20 and I-65 Interchange (Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project).
The ramp will re-open at the completion of the mainline downtown bridges in 2020. A detour map is attached.
Message boards and all necessary traffic controls will be in place.
This work is a part of Phase III of the I-59/20 Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
