Repairs Finished ahead of Schedule, in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM – Saturday, October 15 at 9:30 p.m. the Alabama Department of Transportation announces the reopening of lanes and ramps originally scheduled to reopen Monday, October 17. The repairs began on I-59 northbound from the entrance ramp from I-65 Southbound (Milepost 124.9) to ½ mile north of the exit ramp to 17th Street (Exit 125A) in Birmingham. This work consisted of the following lane and ramp closures:
- I-59 Northbound from the entrance ramp from I-65 southbound (MP 124.9)
The inside (left) three lanes will be closed beginning at the entrance ramp from I-65 Southbound (MP 124.9) to ½ mile north of the exit ramp to 17th Street (Exit 125A).
- I-65 Southbound, Exit 261A
This exit ramp will be completely closed.
- I-65 Northbound, Exit 261A
This exit ramp will remain open, however expect merging delays when merging onto I-59 Northbound.
