Replacement of Impact Attenuators (Crash Cushions) on AL 3/US 31, in Vestavia and Inlet Cleaning on I-59, in Birmingham

 

Birmingham, Ala. – On Saturday, July 29, weather permitting, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., ALDOT will make repairs to Impact Attenuators (Crash Cushions) on AL 3/US 31 in Vestavia, and on Sunday, July 30 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., we will clean the inlets on the Central Business District (CBD) Bridge.  The scheduled times are as follows:

 

Saturday, July 29

6:00 a.m. thru 12:00 p.m.:

  • Replacement of the Impact Attenuator in the northbound direction of AL 3/US 31 (Milepost 266.6). This work will require the outside (right) lane to be closed during this operation.

 

12:00 p.m. thru 6:00 p.m.:

  • Replacement of the Impact Attenuator in the southbound direction of AL 3/US 31 (Milepost 266.6). This work will require the outside (right) lane to be closed during this operation.

 

Sunday, July 30

6:00 a.m. thru 6:00 p.m.:

  • Inlets will be cleaned in the southbound direction of I-59 from the Carraway Blvd. Exit (Exit 126-A) to the south end of the CBD Bridge. This work will require the inside (left) lane to be closed at various times throughout the day.

 

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
