Work Continues on I-59/20 Bridge Project
Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project
BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama Department of Transportation continues its work to improve the I-59/20 and I-65 Interchange (Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project) as follows:
- Multiple aspects of construction activities are becoming more frequent at the I-59/20 and I-65 Interchange so expect delays during night time and early morning hours due to rolling road blocks and lane closures. Major traffic impacts will continue to be communicated prior to their occurrence.
- The contractor will also have lane closures during the weekdays during off-peak hours.
- Please keep in mind planned work can be delayed by inclement weather.
All temporary traffic control signage and warnings will be in place.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, as well as use extreme caution in these areas. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama. For additional information please visit our project website www.5920bridge.com and for traffic alerts and updates follow us on Facebook and Twitter @5920bridge.
