I-59/20 Bridge Project Update
(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM– Weather permitting on Thursday, June 27th, at 9 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin scheduled median maintenance as follows;

• beginning Thursday, June 27th there will be various intermittent one lane closures on Red Mountain Expressway (US 31). Closures will be from the US 280 Interchange to the I-59/20 Interchange and affect the inside lane in both directions.

The above operation will be daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will last for approximately 2 (two) days.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this maintenance operation to improve Alabama’ s roadways
