BIRMINGHAM– As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says drivers should expect delays.

The following closures will take place, weather permitting:

• Thursday, April 9^th the I-59/20 westbound outside lane closures will begin at 7 p.m. until Friday, April 10^th at 6 a.m. for pre-saw cutting for the planned Concrete Rehabilitation Repairs.

RME Ramp Re-opens Ahead of Schedule

BIRMINGHAM–As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation announces that The Red Mountain Expressway northbound ramp to I-59/20 North and I-20 East towards the Shuttlesworth International Airport will re-open today at 3 p.m.

This ramp was originally scheduled to re-open Monday, March 30^th at 7 a.m.

Detour signs will be in place where necessary. Please keep in mind that all construction plans can change due to weather and other factors. […]

BIRMINGHAM– As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says drivers should expect delays.

The following closures will take place weather permitting as follows:

• The Red Mountain Expressway northbound ramp to I-59/20 North and I-20 East towards the Shuttlesworth International Airport will be closed Wednesday, March 25^th at 9 p.m. thru 7 a.m., Monday, March 30^th  to complete the construction of the bridge ramp.
