BIRMINGHAM– Beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 18^th, weather permitting, a project to improve the Interchange of I-65 and Oxmoor Road will begin as follows:

• Sunday, October 18^th, at 9 a.m. 
  • The on-ramp from Oxmoor Road to I-65 South will be closed for improvements.
  • This ramp will be re-opened at approximately 12 a.m.

BIRMINGHAM– As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says drivers should expect delays.

Weather permitting, the following closures will take place as follows:

• 19^th Street N from Rev. Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd. to 10^th Avenue N will be closed, Thursday, October 8^th  thru Thursday, October 15^th  from 12 a.m. until  11: 59 p.m. for Paving/Striping.

All Lanes Now Open on I-59/20 NB at  MP 124.7, in Jefferson County

BIRMINGHAM – the Alabama Department of Transportation announces that all lanes are now open to traffic  on I-59/20 NB at Milepost 124.7 in Jefferson County.  All lanes were closed earlier on Friday, October 1^st due to an overturned vehicle containing hazardous materials.

The hazardous materials have been removed as of today and the  lanes have been repainted and striped in order to move traffic back on to these lanes. […]

SB Lanes now Open on I-59/20 NB at  MP 124.7, in Jefferson County
(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM– The Alabama Department of Transportation announces that the southbound lanes are now open on I-59/20 NB. All lanes were closed earlier due to an overturned vehicle containing hazardous materials. The northbound lanes remain closed.

Motorists are asked to use the following detour route:

• I-59/20 northbound traffic should detour onto I-459 northbound.

The lanes will be closed until further notice. Updates will be provided as work progresses.

Emergency Lane Closures on I-59/20 NB at  MP 124.7, in Jefferson County
(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM– The Alabama Department of Transportation announced that all lanes in each direction on I-59/20 NB are closed due to an overturned vehicle containing hazardous materials.

Motorists are asked to use the following detour routes:

• I-59/20 northbound traffic should detour onto I-459 northbound.
• I-59/20 southbound traffic should detour onto I-65 northbound or I-65 southbound.

The lanes will be closed until further notice, possibly until the end of Friday, October 2nd.
