25th Street on Ramp Now Open, in Birmingham

(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM– As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says the 25th Street on Ramp as well as 25th Street is now open.

The 25th Street on Ramp was re-opened on Monday, February 11th at 6 a.m.

This work is a part of the I-59/20 Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project.

BIRMINGHAM–As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says drivers should expect delays.

The following closures will take during the removal of the existing structures:

• 15th Street N between Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd. and 12th Ave. will close Monday, February 11th through Saturday, February 23rd for CBD bridge demo.

• The scheduled closing on the I-59/20 SB exit to Carraway Blvd. from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Thursday, February 7th, to demo the bridge over the ramp has been canceled until further notice.

(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM–

The Alabama Department of Transportation announces that construction crews have transitioned to close portions of I-59/20 through downtown Birmingham for Phase III of the I-59/20 Central Business District Bridge Project. This transition period includes three weekends of construction activities surrounding closures January 18, 2019 thru February 4, 2019.

The first weekend, beginning January 18th, ramp closures and mainline closures began.
