I-59/20 Bridge Project Update
(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM–As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says drivers should expect delays.

The following closures will take place weather permitting, during the removal of the existing structures:

  • Carraway exit ramp from 59/20 SB will close Monday, February 25th and Thursday, February 28th from11 p.m. until 5 a.m. for bridge demo and girder erection.
  • Red Mountain Expressway NB to 59/20 NB ramp closure will take place each night, Monday, February 25th thru Thursday, February 28th from 11 p.m. […]

25th Street on Ramp Now Open, in Birmingham

(CBD) Central Business District Project

BIRMINGHAM– As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says the 25th Street on Ramp as well as 25th Street is now open.

The 25th Street on Ramp was re-opened on Monday, February 11th at 6 a.m.

This work is a part of the I-59/20 Central Business District (CBD) Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project.
